Syntax: hardcore on : Turn hardcore mode on (see below).
who hardcore : Show hardcore players.

Hardcore is a "survival" game for mid-high tiers. The basic idea is that
when you toggle (HARDCORE) mode you can be killed by anyone in the
game at any level and the goal is to see how far you can get. While you
have the hardcore flag you will enjoy certain in-game benefits.

Starting at tier 3, you can toggle hardcore mode exactly one time each
remort and only between levels 1 and 5. The hardcore flag will remain in
place until you die and you can not remove it yourself.

Once you turn on hardcore, you can be killed by anyone in the game without
level limits. This includes everyone regardless of clan or PK status. That
means they can kill you; it does not mean you can kill them unless you
would otherwise be able to. It probably also means you can be shot at by
hunters from 3 rooms away and be unable to retaliate. Hardcore life is
tough and unfair.

While you are in Hardcore mode you will enjoy the following bonuses:

* You will receive a 20% exp bonus from all mob kills. If you have
'exprate' set to show separate exp the number in red is the bonus
  from hardcore.

* Hardcore mode has a bonus qp for each quest completed at an average
  of 3qp per quest.

* A player in hardcore mode will average around 5qp more per campaign,
twice the gold, and have increased chance for other bonuses. Note that
rewards are set at the time the campaign is requested so it's worth it
even if you don't survive through the campaign itself.

* Your first death will remove the hardcore flag but will not count
as a real death or a PK death. Equipment will stay with you and
no corpse will be created. The kill does count as a PK win for
whoever kills you, but not as a loss for you.

There is no real downside to setting hardcore other than being chased
around the MUD and the eventual death message.

A few other commands and housekeeping items related to hardcore mode:

* There is a 'who hardcore' option.

* Hardcore flag will show in who, whois and scan.

* There is a new 'info hardcore' channel which defaults to OFF so
make sure you toggle 'info hardcore' if you want to see these
  messages.

To allow players in Hardcore mode to still take part in groups and
wars there are a few limitations on when you can kill a hardcore player.
You can not attack a hardcore player under the following scenarios:

    - When you are in the same group.
    - When in the same raid party.
    - When in a safe room.
    - When in warfare and it's the wrong war type.
    - Both defending same clan.
    - PKOFF setting still applies.

There are also some scenarios in which a death will not remove the flag:

    - Dying to yourself (suicide command or casting at self).
    - A death to poison, disease or drowning.
    - A death inside the hall of a clan you are raiding.
    - A death inside the hall of a clan you are defending.
    - A dueling death.

There is some basic tracking in 'pkstats' but it is very possible that
these will be globally reset if this feature changes significantly.
