Psi class merge, new areas, new demoralize spell. Lasher, April 4, 2014 Mindflayer / Empath Merge, New Spell, Other changes The Empath and Mindflayer subclasses have been merged into a single ‘Mentalist’ subclass that has the combined abilities of both classes. If you were in either of those you are now in the ‘Mentalist’ subclass and should have received a note explaining this change. Any subclass change you had has been reset. There is a new Mentalist ability called ‘Demoralize’. The Mentalist demoralizes an opponent so much they sometimes can’t even be bothered to fight back (miss rounds of combat). It’s no lag but does have a small recovery time on failure and a larger recovery time on success. Recovery against mobs is less. Recovery time and strength of the effect itself are based primarily on Int and Luck also players a smaller role. You will now see heal numbers next to some of the heal spells – only the caster and the target see this, not others in the room. You will see the amount actually healed so if the target is at full health then [0] is shown. The ‘nohealamt’ toggle seen in ‘config all’ can be used to turn it off if you prefer the old messages. (Scars). The list of spells done so far is below. If it all works out ok I’ll add to the rest: heal, cure light, cure serious, cure critical, restore life, healing touch, renew, regeneration, psychic healing, incomplete healing. The ‘animate dead’ cleric spell has been renamed to ‘resurrection’ and the messages associated with it changed accordingly. Percent practiced in Animate Dead one should automatically convert to the new spells. I made this change because I am going to use the ‘animate dead’ spell name for something necro related. The ‘restore all’ message now includes the ‘Restore:’ prefix. It was a nice idea to leave the message completely optional but it was confusing without the prefix. Daily blessing will no longer add player name to keywords of static items. Fixed the bug with most commands that load up an offline player leaving them linkdead. These manuscripts detail the life of Talisin, the great minstrel, and his epic works of poetry. The poems describe the history of a strange group of of islands, collectively known as Annwn. Explorers, who have been relayed the tales of this place, have already pinpointed Annwn’s location. Unfortunately, any attempts to enter the four sections of Annwn — Pwyll, Cad Goddeu, Preiddeu, and Harlech — and return from them alive, have been unsuccessful thus far. It is written that an adventurer who manages to enter, face the trials that each island has to offer, and come back alive, will obtain a satisfying reward. Many have tried and found that the islands of Annwn are their final journey. Scholars fear that Annwn is actually the portal to the afterlife. As the manuscripts that were discovered are severely damaged, only fragments of the text remain. The sparsely legible writings on the manuscripts reveal mere hints of what awaits a brave adventurer that seeks to find the real story. The first poem of Talisin seems to describe the island of Pwyll, where an unjust ruler needs to be overthrown in order for the true king to reclaim his rightful rule over the area. The second poem of Talisin, is about Cad Goddeu, where someone seeks help to animate trees for a battle against the evil lord of Annwn. The third poem of Talisin, describes the island of Preiddeu, where Talisin himself can be found. He seeks assistance in obtaining a holy artifact. The fourth and final poem of Talisin, describes the island of Harlech, where a marriage is in the midst of going terribly awry. The people here are in need of someone to help fix the troublesome situation that is brewing. Who is the adventurer that is wise enough to solve these dilemmas of Annwn? The magic of the islands leaves these trials trapped in time, open and available for anyone who is willing to attempt to solve them.
