Aardwolf MUD Update – July 13th 2009 Lasher, July 14, 2009 Four new goals in total in this update. Two in existing areas, one in a replacement area and one brand new. New Area and Goal – Sho’aram, Castle in the Sand (replacing High Tower of Sorcery): Sho’aram was once a thriving kingdom, in the peak of prosperity. Surrounded by fertile farmlands, and fortuitously located near a common trade route, it was a popular spot for merchants to stop and exchange goods with the locals who were famous for their crafts that had a hint of magic in them. Tiny dancing dolls that pranced in rhythm with whatever tune was played, tapestries with scenes that changed depending upon the time of day, and mirrors that showed the faces of children not yet born were but a small sampling of the fanciful creations of the Sho’aramian people. Tragically, all that was, is now gone, buried by a raging sandstorm that cycles maliciously, and with demonic purpose, through the land on a nearly daily basis and with each passing day, the mystery deepens. Where is the palace and what happened to its occupants? Are they dead and lost forever? What evil purpose is behind the disappearance of Sho’aram? New orignal Area and Goal – Plains of Nulan’Boar: Driven from their homeland in the mountains, one person of the Nulan’Boar tribe promised to tame the animals so they could strike back at their oppressors. He has now become the master hunter, yet he needs a few more apprentices before they can try to reclaim their homeland. Are you a hunter worthy of the title, Master Hunter? New Goal – The Fortress of Angband: The Dark Lord has stolen the Silmarils. Elves have ventured into the dungeons of the Dark Lord to retrieve the Silmarils, but so far none have returned. As you arrive, the elves ask for your help. Will you help them or turn aside from the Dark Lord’s scrutiny? New Goal – Christmas Vacation: Welcome to the North Pole. Where elves run between workshops, preparing toys for all the good boys and girls for Christmas Day. Santa is passing out presents already so you had better hurry if you want yours. The sounds of Christmas echo through the air. But far to the west a cold-hearted presence fills the air, and a darkness clings to the land. It is the lair of the Grinch, who wants to steal Christmas! Who will stand up and save Christmas? Wrench spell change: It is no longer possible to wrench a mob into an area if the level of the mob is higher than the max level of the area.
