The game of Texas Hold'Em Poker is a derivative of the card game Poker. Two cards are dealt to each player, then five more cards are dealt face-up in the center of the table among four betting rounds. The object is to make the best five-card hand from your available seven cards (your two plus the five pool cards). While the basic game is the same, there are betting differences and limits depending on whether it is a tournament game or not. See "HELP POKER TOURNEY.html" for more information on gameplay styles.

Here are examples of each of the winning hands, from highest to lowest:

Royal Flush - Five highest cards in a row of the same suit. (10-A of diamonds) *Jackpot bonus-See below*
Straight Flush - Five cards in a row of the same suit. (A-5 of clubs)
Four of a Kind - All four of a card. (Four queens)
Full House - Three of one card and two of another. (3 Js & 2 As)
Flush - Five cards of the same suit. (Five different clubs)
Straight - Five cards in a row, not all the same suit. (10-A)
Three of a Kind - Three of one type. (Three kings)
Two Pair - A pair of two different cards. (2 As & 2 8s)
One Pair - A pair of one of the cards. (2 Js)
Rags - None of the above. (A-3 clubs, 7 & 9 of hearts)

If two players have the same hand, the remaining cards in their five-card hand are checked and the one with the highest extra cards (known commonly as a "kicker") wins. If two players have the same hand, the pot is split accordingly.

During each betting round, you have the following options:

Bet - Adds an amount of chips to your current bet in the pot.
Call - Matches the current required bet.
Raise - Calls, then adds additional chips to the pot.
Allin - Bets all chips you have.
Fold - Forfeit your hand, removing yourself from further betting.

Detailed descriptions of these, and other commands, are listed in "HELP POKER COMMANDS"

During any round, all players must match the current bet or go all in to continue to the next rounds, or fold and give up any chance of winning the current hand.

Aardwolf Hold'em supports two jackpots, fed by small amounts of gold removed each hand called a "rake." The first jackpot is for Royal Flush. This occurs any time a player hits a Royal Flush (a Straight Flush 10-Ace) using both hole cards, 3 players dealt into the hand, and at least 5,000 gold's worth in chips on the table. The second jackpot is a "Bad Beat" Jackpot, awarded when a player with a hand of Four of a Kind Eights or better loses to a higher hand. Both the winning and losing player must use both their hole cards, three or more players must have been dealt into the hand, and 5,000 gold's worth in chips must be in the pot.
