{"id":13,"date":"2008-07-10T16:29:59","date_gmt":"2008-07-10T20:29:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aardwolf.com\/blog\/?p=13"},"modified":"2008-07-10T16:29:59","modified_gmt":"2008-07-10T20:29:59","slug":"0710-mud-update-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aardwolf.com\/blog\/2008\/07\/10\/0710-mud-update-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"07\/10 &#8211; MUD update &#8211; new goals, new wish, other changes."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Goals and Quests:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are new goals and tasks in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Death Gate  &#8211; Lumina<\/li>\n<li>Sirens Oasis Resort  &#8211; Nikkei<\/li>\n<li>Pet Store  &#8211; Tymme<\/li>\n<li>Gallows Hill &#8211; Domain<\/li>\n<li>Gilda and the Dragon &#8211; Citron<\/li>\n<li>Island of Lost Time &#8211; Citron<\/li>\n<li>Faerie Tales 1- Citron<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of these areas has a helpfile listing basic info on the goal.<\/p>\n<p>Still looking for help converting other areas if anyone is interested.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Other game changes this reboot include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Campaign targets will now automatically be sorted by area when the campaign is requested for area type campaigns. Room name campaigns remain  the same. (Ivru)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a new wish &#8211; &#8216;wish for popularity&#8217; adds 40 more friend slots.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There are several new tags types (see &#8216;tags&#8217; command) and the format change previously mentioned is now in place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Shop changes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some shopkeepers buy nothing at all and are there only to sell, these remain the same.  All other shopkeepers will now buy all item types.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Whenever an item is sold to a shopkeeper, the price it will pay is reduced based on how many it already has. This reduction amount has been lowered &#8211; you will generally get more for duplicate items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The amount of gold shopkeepers replenish has been increased greatly. It took around 3.5 hours for a shopkeeper to go from 0 gold to full, now it takes about 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Other minor changes this reboot include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Running with the new mapnames\/mapexits tags on was not showing them, now fixed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Using &#8216;listen&#8217; on a mob now uses &#8216;sayto&#8217; rather than &#8216;say&#8217;, so only the person doing the listen sees it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8216;Quest reset&#8217; is now a global alias to &#8216;qreset self&#8217;. (Feight)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>It was possible to steal 1 gold from mobs that don&#8217;t actually have any, ultimately leading to what you see below. Now fixed. (Felt)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>You get -1 gold coins from the hacked corpse of the High Priestess.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Fixed &#8216;seared by&#8217; message not showing weapon name correctly. (Culpable)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Blockexit was working even if you didnt have the skill yet. Now fixed.  (Craven)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Fixed trailing space issues in &#8216;find&#8217; and &#8216;goal [whatever]&#8217;. (Nulonna)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Typing &#8216;rebuild&#8217; with a third argument anything other than valid trains arguments will now give an error rather than proceed with a normal rebuild.
